Raymond de Mooij

Raymond de Mooij is one of the founders of GMW lawyers. He has been a lawyer since 1989, specialising in real estate law and tenancy law.

Raymond works for real estate entrepreneurs, developers, housing associations, catering establishments and retailers. His personal and practical approach ensures a loyal customer base.

Raymond has a litigation practice. That means that he is in court an almost daily basis. In these proceedings and in rendering advice, in addition to his own expertise Raymond can rely on the knowledge and experience of the real estate section of GMW lawyers; specialists in the field of construction law, homeowner associations law and administrative law. This makes the service to real estate clients comprehensive. In particular, Raymond conducts proceedings in conflicts about real estate transactions, latent defects, rent adjustments, arrears, hemp cases, subletting, nuisance and squatting. He also has extensive experience in drafting and reviewing purchase agreements and leases.

Raymond has recorded many of his adventures in the legal profession in newspaper columns and magazine articles. These stories have been collected in two books: “Voor de rechter” (“In Court”) and “Vechten in toga”(“Fighting in Toga”). Raymond frequently gives lectures in tenancy law, property law and civil procedure.

Netherlands Bar – register of legal practice areas
Raymond de Mooij has registered the following legal practice areas in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister):

  • Tenancy law

This registration obliges him to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
